Staircase of Memories

I walk down the stairway of memories,

There are doors scattered across the walls,

Each containing everything I wish to never forget,

Some good, some bad, some happy, some sad,

Every one of them tells a story, my story.

The ones closest to me show memories of my early childhood,

Some before and after dad had passed, some of them with my brothers,

The ones in the middle show ones of old friends,

They reference betrayal and new hope,

I look up ahead, at future memories,

Blurry doorways stare back, leaving them indecipherable,

I don’t know what my future holds, none of us do.
