Tour of my life!

Hello there, welcome to the museum of my life! I hope you’re ready for a wild ride! Our first stop is the day I wrecked my bike and scratched up my knees so bad that my mom had to carry me inside. The next stop is when I developed the fear of snakes. The way they move really freaks me out, and they are like devils without horns or feet. Now let’s go over here and watch the video of the time I decided it would be fun to bounce on the slide of our bounce house and hit my butt on the ground. I hurt for days. Let’s go over here to watch a film about how my love for dance has grown throughout the years. After the film, we are gonna go upstairs to see a 3-D map of the places I have traveled and all the places I am gonna travel to. You can even tap on the red dots, and pictures that my family took while on the trip will pop up. Now off to your left is a room and I do warn you guys this room is full of my heartbreak. Pictures of family members I have lost and stories of us together. I do want to make sure you guys know before entering just in case some want to sit out this one. After you guys cry, I decided to show you the room full of little kids. Babysitting has been a huge part of my life so I decided to make a room full of pictures of the kids I watched. Everyone needs to gather around for this next room because it is full of food for you guys to try. All the food is items I have tried. Oh! You guys have to try some salmon! After everyone is done eating I will take you guys to the basement and down here are all the dreams I have had at night. Look here is my favorite one. It is about me being a spy and kicking butt while breaking men’s hearts. Oh, here comes the best part, (I do a two-second change in a photo booth so I don’t get caught for punching out the guy in the corner). That dream was so cool.

“Hey, Miss Emma!” A little girl says. She was pointing to the next room.

Behind this next door is my future. I have never been behind these doors because I don’t want to know my future. My path always changes. Every week construction workers come and change that room. You guys can all go in there if you want. If you choose to go in, that is the end of the tour. When you get done there is a gift shop by the front door with a whole bunch of different things for sale. Please come again to the museum of my Life! I hope the tour wasn’t too crazy, but if so that is just life for you. You never know what to expect.

Insomnia at it's Finest

   Are you going to sleep?

                                                                             Yes, now be quiet.

But did you lock the door?

                                                                              I’m pretty sure.

You should go check.

No. I need to get to sleep.

What if someone is in your house now?

No one else is in my house.

They could kill you at any moment,

all because you didn't lock the door.                Fine. I’ll go check. Just for you.

Sooooo?                                                            It was locked. Now let me sleep.

Are you sure it’s locked?

Yes. I’m going to sleep now.

I thought I heard the door open.

Good for you. I’m going to sleep.

There’s someone in the hallway, turn on the light.

                                                                                There’s no one there.

It can’t hurt to check.

Would it really make you feel better if I check?

Yes.

Look there's no one there. Now I’m going to bed.

Okay, but have you drank water today?

I’ll drink some in the morning.

You shouldn’t go to bed dehydrated.

Well, you shouldn’t be keeping me up!

I’m being serious.

                                                                     So am I.

The kitchen is just down the hall,

go get water.                                                Okay, fine but this is the last time I’m getting up.

See, isn’t that better?

No, because now I’m going to have to go to the

bathroom later in the night and wait- what time even is it?

         It’s 2:49 AM.

Great. I have to get up in 4 hours. Please let me sleep.

Fine, but I have one more question.

                                                               What is it?

What if your entire life so far hasn’t been

real and you’re currently in a coma?                      What, why would I be in a coma?

Dunno. Maybe you feel out of bed and hit your head on the nightstand, so maybe you should move it away from your bed.

                                                                             Yeah, maybe..

That was also good exercise, you should go

on a walk in the morning.

                                                                             But I’ll be too tired.

Then go make coffee. Is the coffee pot on?

                                                                            I’ll go check.

What if there's a power outage tonight?

Why would there be a power outage? The

                                                                          the weather is fine.

Do you have enough money to buy a coffee just in case?

                                                                         I’m sure I do.

Double check.

Yes, I have enough money, now let me sleep.

But what if you get robbed.

                                                                         In my house?

Yes, because I’m pretty sure you didn’t

lock the door.

I already checked two times tonight!

Check again.

                                                                  Fine, yes it’s locked now-

Ooh! Look at the sunrise!

The sunrise? Are you kidding me?

It’s so pretty!

                                                                 I didn’t get any sleep.

That sounds like a “you” problem.

We are literally the same person.

Wait For What Happens After The Rain

Red was never an ambitious person. He always stuck to himself, never interacting much with the other colors surrounding him. But Red was sweet. He was kind-hearted and only wanted the best for all. One day, Red was walking home from school. It was a rainy day so the walk seemed a bit longer than usual. Before Red began to turn down his street, he caught Orange sitting on a bench out of the corner of his eye. He thought nothing of it until he heard her sobs through the rain pounding against the concrete. Red wanted to help her. He walked over there, but before he could get one single word out, Orange spoke up, “I don’t want your help.” Now Orange was a very independent color yet had many friends, so when she said this Red was not surprised. Red continued cautiously, saying, “What’s wrong Orange? I only want to help.” But Orange still sat there with her head hung low. “I want to show you something,” Red said, “Something that will blow your mind. I promise.” Red extended his hand to Orange. Before reaching out, Orange sheepishly looked up to Red, then grabbed a hold.

It was still raining, so both Red and Orange became drenched. “This is a perfect day for me to show you this, Orange,” Red said excitedly. But Orange did not agree, she despised the rain (which happened to be the reason she was crying before). “How could rain ever be perfect for anything? I hate it,” Orange stated. Red tried to convince her saying, “It’s more of what comes after the rain. I promise you, Orange. This is one of the most fantastic things I’ve ever been a part of. And I think you’re just what we’re looking for.” The rain started getting lighter and lighter so Red grabbed a hold of Orange’s arm and yanked her ahead in a hurry. Once they’d arrived at Red’s house, which was right outside of town, Orange was stunned to see all the other colors there. She had known how shy Red was, but to see him interacting with so many people at once intrigued her. Orange, the independent color she was, introduced herself in a high manner. Everyone was welcoming and they all sat around waiting for something. Orange was not sure but something Red had said really stuck with her. “It’s more of what comes after the rain,” she thought to herself. What was it? Why did they need me?

As the rain was about to cease and the sun started to peek through the dark and heavy rain clouds, Red pulled everyone outside, yelling, “It’s almost time everyone! Get into your places!” Red told Orange to stand next to him and on her other side stood Yellow, then Green, then Blue, Indigo, and finally, Violet. As confused as Orange was, she was ready to see what was finally going to happen. The sun fully came out from behind its shade, shining on all the colors that were standing in Red’s backyard. Suddenly, a burst of color lined the sky, starting from Red’s backyard and ending who knows where. “We call it a Rainbow,” Red whispered to Orange. She was completely stunned. “That’s absolutely beautiful,” Orange thought to herself. As the Rainbow continued on, you could almost hear a collective “Wow!” from the whole city. Red was right, this truly did blow Orange’s mind. And after that day, every time it rained, the whole group would gather again to create something so spectacular everyone could enjoy it, even Orange.

The Island Story

There I was riding along in my dog sled. Nine huskies were pulling the sleigh and fast too. I

was going back to my house in the country where most people didn’t live. I wanted to have a

Rough life in Alaska, so this is what it came to. Most of the houses in town were way too

expensive so I went for the cheaper option. As we were about to the cliff side, one of the dogs

stopped as the others ran into it. I jolted up with alarm and wondered what was going on.

I looked up and saw that the path was blocked by snow that must have fell off the mountain. I glanced around and saw that there was another path that I had never taken. I told the dogs to sit and wait there, as I went over to the road and went to see if it was possible to pass. I put one foot on it and pushed down with a little force, and made it was sturdy. Then I put my other foot on and with all my weight it held.

I took one more step and made sure that it was safe for me and my dogs. I didn’t want to risk their lives and mine all because we could get home. I was fully confident now, that it was safe to cross. I walked back to my dogs. I didn’t expect that the entire road would give way.

I looked at the last time I would see the dogs as they whimpered and tried to get me. They ran over with the sleigh still connected as the lead dog grabbed my coat sleeve. They pulled back with their might and pulled me up. I grabbed the ledge and pulled myself up. They all gather around me and licked me with kisses. I was glad that they were there to save me as I would have be--. You know what let's not talk about that. I hugged them and decided that we were going to find another way to get home.

I got back on the sled and went back to town, as that snow would be there for a while. I only had one friend here in Alaska. Her name was Rose. She had a local coffee shop in town, which meant she was always busy being a single owner and all. We never had time to catch up as neither did I. I was always fixing mistakes that my family left behind, like all the debts owed or people who wanted them dead. They fled the state after I turned 14 and left me with all their problems. Now that I am 18 and can finally leave in peace as my “family” is just dead to me.

I pulled into town and let my dogs off the sled and put them all on a leash even though that was  just a precaution. Rose lets me take my dogs in so they sit inside, not to mention it's just an animal cafe where you can relax with animals. I opened the doors and walked inside and looked over to see a very surprised rose.

“Wow, Skylar! I didn’t expect to see you here today, I thought you already left town,” she said as she walked over to me. “Ya, well I may or may not have almost been killed by a road of snow collapsing into a giant pit.” I jumbled out as she had a face of shock and worry. “SKY, you need to be more careful, you could have just came back to my place and waited for a clearing!” she said as one of my dogs went over to lick her hand. She smiled at him and patted his head, thanking him for the comfort.

“When do you close up?” I said looking over to her. “I close up around 6 so only an hour longer,” she said as I looked outside and noticed that it was getting dark.

“Hey how about you make me a coffee, you know the usual.” I said giving here a wink as she looked like she was holding back a laugh. She walked over to the counter and whipped up a black coffee with some french vanilla creamer. It was really all I got since all that other stuff just sounded plane stupid. I don’t want to have a sugar high every second of the day.

Rose walked over to me with my coffee in her hand. “Here you go Sky nice and vanilla just the way you like it, because it will be your last.” She said as she whispered something I couldn’t hear.

I smiled at her and took a sip. The warm liquid going down my throat and warming my core. “This is pretty good, bet you made it extra special for your pal.” I said as I wrapped my arm over her shoulder and her neck like a side hug. “Ya extra special anyways, how about we go to my place since you can’t make it home.” Rose said as she rushed around the place and turned off everything.

“Jeez, why are you in such a hurry, guess you missed me!” I said pointing to my face and smiled. She only nodded and continued to shut off the lights and made sure everything was off. After it was pitch dark she told me, “Please finish up your coffee as you could spill it on the way to my place.” I just nodded back and chugged the thing. I felt pain in my head and felt wussy. “Oh no Sky, are you okay, here let me help you lay down.” She said as I closed my eyes. “Heh nighty night Skylar.” I heard as I faded into black.

I jolt awake with worry and pain as to where I was and why my head hurt. I looked down and noticed I was strapped to a chair and I was trapped. I frown at that and glance around the room. I notice that a single light was on and a figure in a black coat stands there looking at me as I flinched. “Mmh” I moaned as I note that there is duct tape on my mouth. “Oh poor little Skylar, what’s wrong? Cat got your tongue?” The figure said as they had a girl voice while they walked over to me. I looked at them, I wanted to ask who they were but I put the pieces together. They grabbed the duct tape over my mouth and ripped it off. “Oww!” I yelled and glared at the person.

“How is my little buddy doing.” She said as she strolled over to the light again. “Why are you doing this, what did I do to you?” I said looking at them. “HAHA you’re so FUNNY Sky, how do you not KNOW this.” She said and continued laughing. I looked at her. “What did I do to you, I'm your best friend.” I said looking at her, trying to see her eye’s as they were covered by a shadow. “ME your BEST friend PLEASE, you must be joking.” She said as she slowly pulled off her hood and continued. “I'm more like your worst enemy.” She said pulling off her hood to reveal that it was Rose. I guess I was right.

Do you know what your FAMILY has done to mine?” She said continuing. “They put MY FATHER in jail because he took you in. All that we have done and that’s what he gets. PlEASE, you're the one that deserves it. But NO since you just turned 18 this year he has to go. Since he’ll be there for 3 years I have the perfect way to get my anger out.” She yelled at me and put a crazy smile on her face. “Just look at these, they are perfect, just for you FRIEND.” she said as she pointed at the table with what looked to be knives and other things I don’t want to name. I started to get scared. It wasn’t my fault for this. It’s my stupid family’s. I thought as she walked over to the table to grab a scalpel. “I'm going to love every seco-” She said as she was interrupted by the sound of the door bell. “I’ll be back for you, so don’t go anywhere, OH wait YOU CAN’T. HAHA!” She laughed as she threw the knife at me and went up the stairs.

The knife landed in my knee. I held back a scream and realized how stupid she was. Firstly, she sucked at throwing a knife and she just gave me a way to get out. I could just barely reach the knife and pulled it out of my knee. I cut the ropes around my arm and cut the rest on my body. I stood up but to my surprise fell straight back into the chair. My body was weak and my knee didn’t help me whatsoever. I slowly picked myself up and limped over to the stairs.

I just wanted to go home and sleep with my d-wait! Where are my dogs. I left them at the coffee shop! Where did she put them? I hear a whimper and glance to my left to see a horrid sight. They were tightly tied together in a cage with little to no room. I saw that it was locked and went over to her “toys” and grabbed a hammer and a knife. Just in case she wanted to fight.

I limped back to the cage and broke the lock and opened the door. All nine huskies jumped out and covered me in kisses. This was the second time they thought they were going to lose me. I hugged them all and stood up, I was ready to get the heck out of here. I should have never let them take me in. They all had their leashes on so I grabbed all nine and limped up the stairs. Even though they would follow me, I don’t trust Rose on what she would do. I was about to reach the top step when I heard her voice. “Okay I need you guys so follow me, but not too fast.” I told them as I walked up the last step, my hammer and knife in hand. Just in case she wanted to get violent.

I opened the door that lead to her and walked myself out. She was next to the door talking to someone. I was going to listen to what she said but I was too late as she slammed the door shut. She looked toward my direction and I darted behind a wall. I peeked over and saw her walk my way. Well it was now or never. I leaped out behind the wall and went into a fighting stance with my knife in my right hand.

She jumped a little and formed two fists. “Wow I'm surprised you got out, I thought I hit you in the throat,” she said. “Yeah, well that would have worked if you didn’t suck so much at throwing things.” I said glaring at her. “Well so be it.” She said taunting me.

I lunged at her and went straight for the heart, anger flowing through my veins. She jumped back straight into a wall. I cornered her and brought my knife to her face. She held back it with her arms and tried to push me on the ground. What she didn’t expect was for me to reach in my pocket and pull out my hammer. I bashed her in the head and she fell on the ground. I wanted to kill her, but I knew that wasn’t right. She was knocked out and I made sure of it by kicking her.

I walked over to the basement and told my dogs to come up. They ran to me and sat. I grabbed all their leashes and went to the door. I walked outside and found my sleigh sitting there and everything else I had was there. I harnessed all the dogs and sat down in the sleigh. I directed them to go home and they listened. As I was riding home I took in all the sights. I'm glad I got to see them again. We got to the mountain once again and saw that the snow pile was gone so we went straight through. As we finally made it home, I brought all the dogs inside and found my little cat Menchie waiting there for me. She jumped onto my shoulders and rubbed her head on my neck. I picked her up and hugged her. I put her down and went to the bathroom and wrapped my knee up.

The last thing I did was say goodnight to my dogs and Menchie. I also made sure that any door or window was locked so if Rose came here she couldn’t get in. I also called the police and told them what happened and that I got home safely. I closed my eyes and was glad that this day was over.

Stories That Made Tonight

Dawn breaks as I sit here

sitting and waiting

for the night to come again

but I now it won't

for that was my last night

not of life but of this chapter

it is the end to one and start to the next

don't go into this deep sleep all alone

but I do not fear for no nightmare

can over come all of my dreams I have of us

all if the memories we have made

no fire burns hot enough to set them ablaze

I loved you all now go into the new dawn

not alone but with them memories that have never gone.

My Journey

 My Journey

As I looked through my last moments, I get a wave of memories

Here was where grew up

Here I was 11 years old, barely figuring out life for myself

Here I layed on the cold floor spending my first night

Here I spent summer playing in the playground and made a friend

Here I got dressed for my first day of middle school

Here I was different and got bullied for it

Here I cried tears of suicide

Here I felt betrayal

Here I decided to be strong

Here I gained friendship

Here I decorated my room with lights and awards

Here I started high school

Here I had facetime calls and long nights

Here I got dressed for homecoming

Here I woke up early for drill meets

Here I still cried but I wasn’t alone

Here my life changed again

Here I got dressed for my last military ball

Here I layed on the cold floor again, spending my last night

Here I looked through the last bits my memories and shut the door behind

The Heist

The schematics were laid out on the table. We took positions on each side and analyzed the castle. "Built in 1623," Nat began, "as a prison for pirates and smugglers, it had largely remained intact and had been planned to open as a museum until-"

"Until pretty boy here decided he wanted a fancy new bachelor pad." Mikhael threw a magazine on the table with the headline: Marcus Grey, son of affluent inventor Chris Grey, buys Shallow Castle as summer home! Full interview inside! Mikhael continued the intel on Grey. Apparently, his mansion in Miami had bored him with the endless hallways and three pools and technological innovations. He wanted something more...rustic. Of course, he did not go completely off the grid. "He's been entrusted to secure his father's latest plans: an AI-operated tank with higher speed and durability than any current military vehicle known." And that was the target.

"Grey is throwing a party to flash his wealth to all the other rich boys and girls," Cassie explained.

"Exactly," I finished, "which will allow me to enter without anyone realizing."

"And I am coming with you." The room went quiet. I motioned for Talia and Mikhael to leave. And then an argument broke out. For every point I made ("You are too inexperienced to handle a job like this") she rebutted with which I could not deny ("I will never be experienced if you keep me locked up here with Talia"). Maybe my little sister was ready.

Mikhael drove us along the long, narrow bridge leading to Shallow Castle. There were several other limos waiting for us to arrive as there was only room for one vehicle.

I wore a black tuxedo with a dark grey vest and a dark red tie. Cas clutched my arm. She wore a rose gold dress and had her hair draped around her shoulders. She looked okay.

At the entrance were metal detectors along with a couple of guards for pat-downs. We passed through the metal detectors. No alarms. Then I was searched. It was nothing. Even if I was hiding something, I could most likely keep it hidden from them, but we could not risk it so I was naked. Someone was not having a pleasant time. Cas was making a fuss as the guard patted her down.

She eventually calmed down. I took a sigh of relief. The buyer had paid half upfront, and I did not enjoy giving back money. She made her way through the checkpoint without getting kicked out, so I supposed she did not handle her first one too horribly. I waited for her next to the drinks table.

We were standing in front of the drink table. We each picked up a glass of champagne and made our way across the dance floor near the stairwell leading to the tower. As if the metal detectors with their white, sleek appearance did not stand out enough, there was a golden chandelier swinging gently above and several modern lights plastered on the ceiling and walls. Narrow spaces of darkness, places of depressing nature, of decrepit prison air, still lingered between illumination.

I took a long swig of champagne as I examined the tower door. A conventional door lock. Conventional may be the wrong word, antique is more like it. "It says here that Grey requested a locksmith in the nearby town to create a copy of an old key," Talia spoke through the earpiece. "Surely he has one, and I'd fair a guess in saying his head of security has one as well. Find Them." I told Cas to wait by the door as I went out into the crowd of partiers. It did not take long to find her. Long blonde hair roped into a ponytail. She wore a dark uniform with an emblem I had never seen before, that of a shark with waves beneath it. The private company Grey hired as security. Grey was wearing a bright white suit with a pink tie. He was walking down the staircase and waving to the partiers.

After returning to Cas, we came up with a plan.

Cas has lighter fingers, I admitted to myself. It was up to her to get the key. The man himself wandered down the stairs and addressed a few of his special guests. She messed her hair a bit and dumped her champagne into a nearby plant. She made her way towards Grey. I stayed by the door. She tapped him on the shoulder; he turned around. She struck a conversation. There was laughter, smiles, a motion of shyly brushing her hair back. Then came a kiss. My face turned red hot. The job was the last thing on my mind, I could only think about bashing Grey's face in. I threw down my empty glass and started towards them. But then Grey took her hand and led her towards me. He reached for his pocket and out came a key, rusted and very much matching the prison's age. Cas winked at me as they walked by and I heard the tower door clink open. Grey did not check to lock it. I made sure to do it for him.

I followed three floors behind them. Too close and he'd hear my steps. We reached the top. Of course, there were two guards posted outside the room. They moved aside for Grey and his female companion. I was trapped. All I could do was hope and wait for Cas's help. Roughly five minutes later we, the guards and myself, heard glass shattering. Then a thud, both came from Grey's room. The guards unholstered their guns; I loosened my tie.

The fight had cost me a bleeding nose, a bruised side, and a momentary flash of death when a guard nearly tossed me over the railing and down the 30 story tower.

I entered the room. The lavish carpet I stepped on matched the newly painted walls and ornate king-sized bed across from the entrance. And next to the bed was Cas, sipping champagne next to an opened safe and an unconscious Marcus Grey. I was proud, but I could not let her see that. I located the opening in the wall Talia had told us about and I gave a thumbs up into the darkness. Seconds later, a zip line shot into the stone wall with the magnetized handles slowly following. "Ladies first," I said, motioning to our escape. I did check to make sure she had what we came for. She did, and she escaped down to Mikhael in the boat. I followed. Contract complete.

Sushi Date

One night Camden, his little brother Casen, and I decided to go out for sushi. Camden and I equally decided it would be the best thing to eat for supper. When we got there they sat us in the booth area. His little brother doesn’t like sushi so we had to find sum other things he would like. We got him chicken and rice and Camen and I got the love boat. We all got lemonade to drink. The base of the cup was a circle. Casen was being mean because the chicken didn’t look like his mom’s. He then eventually started feeding me his food because he didn’t want to eat it. The amount of our check added up to almost one hundred dollars. Overall it was a positive night for the three of us. After dinner, we went and got ice cream then went home.
