Museum of my Life

Hello there, welcome to the museum of my life! I hope you’re ready for a wild ride! Our first stop is the day I wrecked my bike and scratched up my knees so bad that my mom had to carry me inside. The next stop is when I developed the fear of snakes. The way they move really freaks me out, and they are like devils without horns or feet. Now let’s go over here and watch the video of the time I decided it would be fun to bounce on the slide of our bounce house and hit my butt on the ground. I hurt for days. Let’s go over here to watch a film about how my love for dance has grown throughout the years. After the film, we are gonna go upstairs to see a 3-D map of the places I have traveled and all the places I am gonna travel to. You can even tap on the red dots, and pictures that my family took while on the trip will pop up. Now off to your left is a room and I do warn you guys this room is full of my heartbreak. Pictures of family members I have lost and stories of us together. I do want to make sure you guys know before entering just in case some want to sit out this one. After you guys cry, I decided to show you the room full of little kids. Babysitting has been a huge part of my life so I decided to make a room full of pictures of the kids I watched. Everyone needs to gather around for this next room because it is full of food for you guys to try. All the food is items I have tried. Oh! You guys have to try some salmon! After everyone is done eating I will take you guys to the basement and down here are all the dreams I have had at night. Look here is my favorite one. It is about me being a spy and kicking butt while breaking men’s hearts. Oh, here comes the best part, (I do a two-second change in a photo booth so I don’t get caught for punching out the guy in the corner). That dream was so cool.

“Hey, Miss Emma!” A little girl says. She was pointing to the next room.

Behind this next door is my future. I have never been behind these doors because I don’t want to know my future. My path always changes. Every week construction workers come and change that room. You guys can all go in there if you want. If you choose to go in, that is the end of the tour. When you get done there is a gift shop by the front door with a whole bunch of different things for sale. Please come again to the museum of my Life! I hope the tour wasn’t too crazy, but if so that is just life for you. You never know what to expect.

Staircase of Memories

I walk down the stairway of memories,

There are doors scattered across the walls,

Each containing everything I wish to never forget,

Some good, some bad, some happy, some sad,

Every one of them tells a story, my story.

The ones closest to me show memories of my early childhood,

Some before and after dad had passed, some of them with my brothers,

The ones in the middle show ones of old friends,

They reference betrayal and new hope,

I look up ahead, at future memories,

Blurry doorways stare back, leaving them indecipherable,

I don’t know what my future holds, none of us do.

The Road Between Here and There

Here is where I was born, with the white walls surrounding the miracle of life.
Here is my happy, picture-perfect family living and growing together.
Here is the start of my sickness, the dehydration kicking in and risking everything.
The countless hospital visits, and the last one that saved my life.
Here is happiness because of a great miracle.
Here is the beginning of the end, the fights and the end of a relationship.
Divorce, the event that altered my life forever.
Here is the start of the new life, living without my parents together.
Here is my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary,
Where I demolished too many sweets and ended up puking on the dance floor.
Here is the fresh start, where my mom found love again.
Here is the darkness, the loss of the greatest light in the world.
Starting life without my grandpa, one of the toughest days of my life.
Here is my sister’s graduation party, a day where I cried and lost my best friend.
Here is the start of junior high sports, nerves and awkwardness paving the way.
Here is the beginning of a new path, the start of a new school and life with my dad.
New opportunities and greatness arose from this decisive action.
Here is the start of my grandma’s sicknesses.
With hope, we made it through.
Here is the start of my dream,
Playing volleyball has always been something I’ve wanted.
Here is my sophomore year of football, starting on defense and making a name for myself.
With a proud family and a humble heart, I played that sport with a passion.
Here is speech success, which ended with heartbreak and disappointment.
Here is my junior year,
Excellence in school has caused my family to be proud.
Stress and expectations are weighing down on me like a mountain.
Here is Washington D.C., the greatest experience of my life with amazing people.

Here is my life so far, ups and downs, twists and turns, making me the person I am today.

Memories Are Made

Here I remember moving to a place unknown
Albion Nebraska so different from where I lived before
That was where my parents were born and raised
On a farm in the country
Here I made my first communion
With a class of 13 at st Michaels
There I made so many new friends and memories
To many friends to count
Here is a place that i call home
There is where i got my first, second, and third Job
My favorite being the pool because of the stories
Here is where i started High School
And it was a terrifying experience
Here is where i learned to drive and almost died.
This was all Ashley’s fault
There is where i had my first convention
One of the best experiences of my life.
There i made tons of friends
Friends that i can talk to for hours
Here i moved to a new house that’s bigger and better
But still needs improvements
Here i finally got a better room
Bigger than a closet
Here is where my memories lie
Here is where my life may not have began but it is where it is at now
Here or there it is all the same as long as memories are made.
