Cows

11-25-19

I love you like I love cows
Stubborn but sometimes nice
You may be polite but have you seen
That bully he’s just so rude and mean
Just like that bull that decides to trample and take people
Everyone gets over excited about food
I mean what kind of people do not get excited over food
Like look at that birds that flies into the bird feeder and shove their cheeks full of food
Cow are so soft like bro you could sleep on them
My mom said that blankets are soft but then all blankets
Are not all made out of cotton so what if they were made out of
Cow fluff
But then again mainly cow fluff is there meat so that would be
A weird blanket.
But I still love you like I love cows.

Waking Up

I wake up at 6:30
I think it is too early
Shower because I’m dirty
Look outside, see a birdy
Peanut butter and jelly
I really want some coffee
I should already be gone

I’ll make it on time surely

Sunday Mornings

Sunday Mornings

The early morning sun peered through the window that rested above the sink.
Sizzles and crackles of bacon added warmth to the kitchen.
Soft music of an age old decade was muffled as background noise.
Grandma hummed along to the cheery tunes as she wiped her hands off on her apron.
Grabbing the spatula, she attempted to flip the yellowing eggs.
Stacks of pancakes sit high on the counter taunting the poor white puppy below.
The toaster dinged as the crispy bread jumped up waiting to get picked.
Annoyed rustles come from the paper as Grandpa tries to read the droopy thing.
A breeze rushes through the partially cracked window
Sending in sounds of happy little birds and pesky squirrels.

Stop to Breathe

Life is rich of many highs
Everyday feeling alive
Take a breath-open your eyes
Sit with me, watch the sunrise
Day by day I’ve Memorized
Every hello and goodbye
Choose to live life on the top

Be kind don't stop-humanize

Anger

Anger is an inferno
Nothing but flames
Sometimes it’s a black hole
That swallows you
Time ticks by
It grows like cancer spreading fast
Invading my thoughts
Destroying one slowly

An ode to school
Oh how I love to read my work in class
Oh how I love the halls they
Remind me of a can  of sardines
the almost forced participation
In some events is fun
Taking the ACT was the best day ever
Being in chairs all day
Is the best
Having to deal
With the little freshman is the best
Oh yes teacher
Why not leave little bits of
Marker on the board after
You just wiped it off.

Ps2

The playstation two one of the most iconic of the playstation series it so far has the most sales of any
of the gaming systems from other companies and in its company. It has approximately 155 million sales
and the closest console to that is the original playstation withll 102.49 million sales. But I do believe that
it is one of the best consoles because it can not only play video games on it but it can play DVDs and it
even has the ability to play playstation 1 games. Tthere were two versions of it, the Playstation 2 and
Playstation 2 slim., Tthe slim version was smaller and slimmer with the same features. It's a good
system to have we have had ours for over a decade now and it still works without any problems,
the only problem is trying to find games for it but what can you do. The playstation two has more than
one controller type there is the normal one and the other that has a USB type controller plug in but it splits
into 4 different controllers with one big button on top with the grip you could say is slanted at around a 45
degree angle down with four buttons each different colors and that is all there is to the controller it is used
to play some games as buzz or quiz games that can be played with 4 players. The console can also be
hooked up to the internet via a direct land line. That would give you the ability to play with others from
around the state or world and that at the time would have been the start of the series of their consoles to
have internet and now the ps4 the newest of the series has wireless internet.

This little Kitchen

This kitchen has a story.
The flowers are freshly picked from the garden.
And the bread was just baked.
The smells couldn't mask the horrible incident.
She was in the middle of eating her neighbor's fresh pie
When she had the sudden urge to stop breathing
Looking at the scene she struggled for air
The police checked the pie and it was loaded with drugs
My sister died in her fancy house
Why this crazy old lady decided to kill her
Knowing that I could have stopped!
I can kick myself over and over for this but it's not my fault
She didn't bleed everywhere but she went out hard
I will treasure the time I had and the memories we made.
She was strong and always put her best foot forward.
They caught the lady, let's just hope shes under good surveillance.
Be a shame is she just, fell over dead.

Kitchen Poem

Kitchen Poem

The leaves fall and crumbled off the wilting plant
On the top of fridge it died
The oven was warm, its mouth ready to open
And eat whatever pan we put in
The fridge has colorful magnets on its smooth white surface
The counters were covered in small green plants and succulents
The table had flour all over the wooden board

Outside the window was my grandmother kneeling over the garden
Picking vegetables and herbs
Her hands were caked in dirt for digging for potatoes
The basket next to her was filled with basil, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other goodies
She stood up and carried it over to the house

She bathed them in the sink, washing off any sign of dirt,
Like it was never in the ground, the brown water swirl down the drain
She took the sharpest knife and cut and peeled all of her ingredients
Ready to be cooked in an iron pan
She fried the slabs of meat in the iron pan, grease danced over the meat
The oven timer went off, she pulled out her creation

She wiped the table down, wiping of all the white powder and leftover dough
Placing each plate down in its place, the finest silver next to them
Plating each dish in the China set, covered in pink and white flowers
Steam swirled over the table, scent filling our noses

The family was together and so we ate

The Noises

The Noises

I had always heard a knocking sound after I saw the glowing dots.  I don’t know what they are, or why they followed me home that night.  Knocks on my door, window, or even my walls came right after that. No one else has ever heard the knocks.  People think I’m crazy or just seeking attention. I know better than that. I needed to get away from them but they followed me everywhere.  Some nights they are loud and really fast but others are quiet and slow but still loud enough for me to hear. I told my parents but they told me everything was fine and I needed to stop worrying.  I just needed to get away from it but even when I stay somewhere new they follow me.
One day my friends wanted to know if I wanted to camp at the pumpkin patch across the highway.  This was my chance! The noise couldn’t follow me because I was in a tent! I decided I would go, maybe that night I could actually sleep for once.  I got ready to go and headed out the door but I had a weird feeling. Like someone… or something was watching, waiting.
I met my friends at the pumpkin patch by nightfall.  It was a terribly cold night. The moon was full but wispy clouds covered the bright light.  It took a while to set up the tents but we got it eventually. I looked at my phone, it was one o’clock in the morning already.  We decided we should get some rest from the long day we had at school. Finally, a good night's rest! I laid my head on the pillow and as soon as I did, I fell asleep.

Someone was up.  I didn’t know who it was but someone was outside the tent.  I could tell because the noise of someone's hand on the outside had woke all of us up at the exact same time.  It’s like we were all in the same nightmare… in a way we were. I put a finger up to my lips to signal to be quiet.  No one could tell where the person was. We all stayed quiet until the tent collapsed on us. We all screamed and yelled for help but then the tent went back to normal.  Everyone was to scared to see what it was. I tried reassuring everyone that it was just the neighborhood cat. No one would believe me so I opened the tent and looked outside.  Nothing was there except those two glowing yellow dots again. They were right next to one of the big pumpkins. As I looked the dots got closer and closer. I felt like I was hypnotized, I couldn’t move, talk, or even blink.  I sat there watching as my friends were yelling at me to close the tent. I wouldn’t listen. Then I realized the dots were glowing yellow eyes. I didn’t realize it until the creature was pouncing into our tent. I screamed as it attacked my face.  I heard my friends, but they were laughing. I realized it was only the neighborhood cat. We sat there in our cold tent laughing. We all went back to sleep. The next morning I woke up. I checked my phone to look at the time. My mom had texted me to ask when I was coming home.  I turned to see if anyone else was awake. No one was there. I thought maybe they went outside but when I opened the tent all I found was a trail of blood that lead into the black forest. I never found out what the creature was or what happened to my friends but the good news is the knocking stopped.

The Hidden Mysteries Behind My Favorite Place

I have many places that I go to feel safe.
However one of them is an actual person and not a place but they make me feel safe.
Come and join me on this adventure to get to know more about my favorite places in the world.

My first stop is my Grandma and Grandpa Sandman’s basement.
The creaky stairs make loud noises as we hurry down the steps.
All the cousins are here! It’s time to rehearse the play that we made up last weekend.
There’s a puppet show going on behind the couch.
Costumes are being put together with different toys in the wooden toy box.
We make up lines as we go but we don’t care.
We are laughing and just being our goofy selves.
“Time for dessert,” grandma calls
and we all rush upstairs to be the first in line for a super delicious dessert.

Next stop is the person that makes me feel happy.
Take a left and third door down is my Great Grandma Cook.
She tells the same stories over and over because of her Alzheimer's disease.
I don’t care because she is an ornery person.
“Time to take your pills, Helen,” an employee would say.
“I don’t need those pills. I am perfectly fine.
"I will die someday anyway.”
I always laugh at how stubborn she is.
My mother says that is where I get my stubbornness from.

Let’s head to a town called Stromsburg for this next place.
My grams and papa’s old house was amazing
not that their new house isn’t but it holds a lot of memories there.
Their backyard had tall, wide trees, green grass, lots of places to run or play,
a little dog that was big in her own way, and a wooden fence to use for so many imaginative reasons.
The trees made amazing places to hide
when my cousins on the David side and I played hide and seek.
We would also hide everywhere near or in the house.
Their new backyard is like a forest so the smaller house makes up for it.

Now let’s travel to a town called Holderage.
This is where my great grandmother lives.
Great Grandma Harris is her name and her house is amazing.
The living room is where we gather for David side family events.
A room for showing her history.
Wedding dress, pictures, and artifacts bring back the good old days
or give us children a glimpse of who our great grandmother was.
The kitchen always has delicious food aromas for the fest that night.
The basement is where we have pillow fights and have so much fun.
The basement is definitely my favorite part about the house.

This next place on my list is what I call my happy place.
Animals in cages looking up at you with their big sad eyes, waiting to find the right family.
The cats in the room, play with the toys and do what they do best; sleep.
Small critters are joyfully teasing each other and wanting to be held by their new owner.
If you haven’t guessed already it is an animal shelter.
Specifically the one in Grand Island, Nebraska.
The puppy room or kitten room is by far my favorite place in the whole building.
I get to play with them, give them hope, and a snippet of happiness for the day.

Finally, we have arrived to my absolute favorite place.
This is where I can be myself, come up with stories or other creative things, a
nd it can be used for work and play whenever the time is right.
However, it can be a little distracting at the wrong times but it happens to the best of us.
I can’t raise or lower my voice but that doesn’t bother me one bit
because this is where I am safe from the outside world.
Where I don’t get judged for being too quiet to loud, or my appearance.
My perplexing and sophisticated mind is my favorite place in this universe.

A place to go to escape Life’s Problems

It's a place where no one knows
If I need a break from reality
My favorite place is where I head
And reassures me that there’s nothing to lose
My place helps me clear my mind
From all the daily struggles that life throws in my face

Whenever I am lost
Helps me remember who I am
Here I can never be angry
But it’s okay
Instead I lose track of time

I enjoy the company of being alone
Here I have complete freedom
It’s here where I feel at peace
I can think freely and speak my mind

I look back over time
How exciting it was climbing trees
And hiding in the tall grass
While running through the tree line
That used to be an imaginary forest

With all the changes over the years
The memories that are kept here
Are ones that I’ll always remember
The atmosphere could put your mind at ease
Watching the sunrise and sunset

This place will never be forgotten

My Homes Away From Home

Blood, sweat, and tears
Well, not really blood or tears, but definitely lots of sweat went into making our tree house.
Hauling logs, nails, hammers, and food out to our pasture took lots of work.
My siblings and I spent weeks building it during the summer.
Running out there every chance we could get.
It was a place we could go to get out of doing chores, but mostly because we wanted something that was ours.
It was a place I could go to free my mind.
Look off into the distance and wonder what the world has in store for me.
It was the one place where there was no bickering, no homework, no sadness, no pain.
All I had to do was relax and take in nature around me.

Now, my place isn’t the comfort of my tree house, but rather the comfort of my room.
It’s where I go to decompress after a long day at school or at work.
I can watch Netflix, take a nap, do my homework, and get away from my loud family for a bit.
It’s my safe place.
I have made some of the most important decisions of my life, as of now, in that room.
It is my place, not my siblings or my parents, but my own space.

People may change and move away, but their places will always be there.
They will be waiting for the people to come back to them.
To appreciate their sense of safety and calmness,
Once again.

Where I am From

I am from candles,
From the scents of apple cinnamon and frankincense.
I am from the paint chipping off the siding,
White, ancient, varnish from the ’80s,
But always brings the comfort of home.
I am from poinsettias and lilies,
The cactus from Arizona
Whose long, prickly thorns poked our fingers
And drew blood.

I am from real Christmas trees and music,
From Faith and Louis
And Lyle.
I am from the tattletales
And the eavesdroppers,
From I love yous! And be grateful.
I am from be still and know that I am God,
With the sign of the cross
And praying in tongues.

I am from Jaci and Jim’s family tree,
From garden-grown cucumbers and fresh chopped herbs.
I am from movie buttered popcorn and diet Pepsi,
From Shrek, The Sandlot, and A Christmas Story.

Sitting inside my ice chest
Lies memories far greater than gold,
From important documents to elementary art creations.
I am from those memories
When my family brought me into their lives,

And taught me all I should know.
