A Delivery In the Night

I am awakened by the notes of a doorbell. I glimpse at my digital alarm clock and wince at the radiant red glow of the time. It showed 12:00 A.M. I stumbled out of bed wondering who would be at my door this late in the night. I swing the door open to reveal a brown cardboard box resting there on my front step. I glance about scanning for the deliver to find no one. Exhausted and irritated I pick up the box to discover it was more cumbersome than I expected. I brought it in and set it down on the table to grab a knife from the kitchen to open it. But when I returned the box was gone but in its place sat a note. this mysterious note read "You left the door open".

Lost Sense

Being Without Sight
Seeing color in this somewhat dark world
is something that I need.
Not being able to see my loved ones would be really rough too
The sweet smiles of a baby
Watching the huskers kick butt (hopefully);)
Being able to read and write and color
Missing going shopping or dressing myself
Being in danger of running into things
Constantly falling and hurting myself
Not knowing what I eat until it is in my mouth
Not knowing where I am and getting lost contantly
Being stuck in my own head might make me go insane
Although there are plenty of negatives there are positives
Not being able to see all of the bad things going on in life
Being about to learn braille and listening more
Not being able to do homework probably is a life saver
I think I would appreciate others more
Sight is such an important thing in my life

I don’t know what I would do without it.

You Are Going to Die

She writhed in my brain like a serpent
A deadly poison ready to give its effect.
It was a pain I couldn’t escape from
A pain that no one should experience.
She laughed and I cried
As she sank her claws into my entire being.
I watched as her hair was blown across her face
By the winds of evil.
Fear consumed me as she leaned in close
Her skin cracked and white as paper.
“You’re going to die,”
She smiled.
Five simple words
With so much meaning.
Five words that any moment from then
Could mean a certain ending.
I am still waiting
For that ending.
I am still waiting
For the moment when her words become reality.
I am still waiting

For my death.
