Christmas Vacation

My favorite vacation was of one I’ve had before.

To Missouri we go to at twice a year.

To visit my mom’s family we all revere.

This year though was better than expected.

We went for Christmas as we always do.

Four days and three nights we spend there too.

We stay with my aunt in her big ole’ house.

In Kansas City is where she lives.

With her mother, brother, and his two kids.

It was maybe five years ago when we went

For new years was the time we spent.

We had family and fun and really good food,

But it is not something I can explain to you.

It was my favorite time and everything was good

But you would’ve had to be there for this to be understood.

Now we are grown up and getting old,

But I will not forget the fun I had.

And that in itself will never make me sad.
