The Legend of the Witch
The legend goes, a little ole witch haunts the cemetery near a town named River, who will manifest its energy from your car to scare you into believing that it exists. . . Long ago, there was a group of teenagers, boys and girls, who were having a little party on Halloween. Toward the end of the party, people were starting to leave, and the event was coming to an end. From here, the kids started talking about spooky things that have happened to them. These stories are those that sound like what you would hear at a campfire. They start bringing up urban legends such as the Blue Ball Bridge or the Ghost of Kelsey. The one that stuck out to them the most was the Witch of the River Cemetery. The kids have heard stories about their parents and others who have had eerie encounters with the witch. The kids did not believe the legend and thought that it would be a great idea to go to the cemetery and see if they would be proved wrong. The young kids hop into their truck and make the trek to the cemetery. Once they arrive, they see the grave of the witch. They roam the cemetery, terrorizing and threatening the witch. One boy even peed on the grave, hoping to get attention from her spirit. They did not notice anything odd or out of place when they made their decision to leave, as they were growing bored with being there. The kids start walking toward their car as they feel like something is staring at them from a mile away, but they notice this presence. They moved a little faster and got inside their car, looking around for something, but nothing was there. They lose hope in the cemetery and in the legend. However, when the driver goes to start the car, it just sits there and cranks without trying to start. He tries again, but still nothing. And again, and again, and again. Just as they noticed the battery on all of their phones and the car was starting to die, they made the decision to push the car outside of the gates in hopes that the car would work then. The three boys of the group get out and push the car out of he cemetery. As soon as they get out of the gates, the boys jump in, and the car cranks slowly, as the battery is almost dead, but it starts without issue. The group of teenagers gets out of there so fast that they forgot to shut the gate that blocks it off. As the kids were driving down the road, they started to feel a burning sensation around their necks. They start looking in all of the mirrors and looking at each other with all the lights on in the cab, and see how bad these what looked like rashes or burns, truly were. They all get home feeling very tired and nauseous. The kids did not want to fall asleep as they were terrified as to wake might happen in their sleep, but nothing did. The next morning, one of the teenage boys is super curious about why their necks were fire engine red the night before. He starts looking into the legend of the witch and finds that this witch was said to be hanged for her odd activity in the town around 1882. With this knowledge, he brings this up to his friends when he claims it was a feeling of how she was killed. Nothing new ever happened to these kids after they got home, but will something worse happen when they go next Halloween? I reckon we will never know. . .
